SHAREpower is a platform that helps grassroots communities gather and mobilize their resources to develop

a unified utility co-op, starting with a community energy system.

An initiative of the Odenaansan Project

As an initiative piloting the Integrated community development (ICD) approach, the work is rooted in sacred relationships - among people within their communities, and between communities and the land that sustains them

HOW does it work ?

HOW does it work ?

Individual ratepayers within the community energy system will have access to funding as well as expertise from the original pioneers of green energy infrastructure in Canada to make their homes more energy and cost-efficient – the technical improvements have been proven to increase energy efficiency by at least 75%.

Once the costs of retrofitting have been covered, regenerative capital will be unleashed, growing a fund that can be used for community-driven sustainability initiatives.

The key lies in transforming passive ratepayers into active stakeholders through responsible resource management.

Since this capital will be owned and managed by the community, it ensures that the collective needs of the people are being addressed in an accessible and inclusive fashion. It also creates an economic locomotive (Local Motive) that will drive broader cultural transformation.

By bridging individual households into a collective force, this initiative demonstrates how collective action creates opportunities no single homeowner could access alone.

The community energy system benefits members of the co-op and their community through

Reduced carbon footprint

Increased thermal comfort

Added value to homes

Cultural transformation

generation of funds for community development

stimulation of new economic activity
